Belt Media Collaborative, an independent nonprofit organization and publisher of Belt Magazine, is seeking an Engagement Editor to contribute to the fulfillment of the organization’s mission (“to publish and promote literary, artistic, journalistic, and creative endeavors inspired by the industrial Midwest”). Reporting to the executive director, the engagement editor will oversee social media, support fundraising efforts, organize community events, collaborate on and write newsletters, and take the initiative to develop additional audience building, engagement projects, and membership drives.
Belt Magazine is a digital publication by and for the Rust Belt and greater Midwest, with an emphasis on nuanced, context-driven regional storytelling (learn more about our mission and work here). Our ideal candidate shares these values and has relevant social media and audience strategy background, ideally with experience in journalism or related non-profit work. Strong knowledge of Rust Belt history and culture is desired.
This is a part-time position (10 hours a week). Compensation is $25 an hour.
